Data Recovery Floppy Disk (online glossary)

Information stored on a floppy disk is in ‘magnetic’ form – in other words,
the very very fine magnetic particles on the disk are arranged in a pattern equivalent to a series of ones and noughts – the code the computer
uses to store information. If you place the disk very close to a magnet, or to something containing a strong magnet,
like a speaker or monitor, then the information (data) stored on the disk is likely to be damaged or even deleted.
